Páll Gunnarsson is the executive director of the Reykjavik Institute, a think tank focused on climate tipping point risk governance. His work centres on AMOC early warning systems, national security frameworks for tipping point risks, and reducing the likelihood of AMOC collapse — through mobilising Iceland’s contribution to global decarbonisation and investigating the potential of climate interventions. He engages with Nordic and EU policymakers to support the development of an international response to the AMOC threat.
