The PV Plant of 2035: From Design to Daily Operation – PVOP at EU PVSEC

15 September 2026 Rotterdam, the Netherlands

PVOP, a project that is transforming Europe’s approach to solar energy, enhancing efficiency and slashing maintenance costs across the continent, is teaming up with its sister projects SUPERNOVA and Solaris at EU PVSEC 2026, the world’s largest conference and exhibition dedicated to photovoltaics. At the event, which will take place from 14 to 18 September in Rotterdam, the three Horizon Europe projects are hosting a joint session looking at how today’s research and innovation will shape the solar plants of the next decade, from the drawing board through to everyday operation.

The session brings the three projects together to present a common vision for next-generation PV plants, following the digital and operational value chain from field-level monitoring hardware to software tools and data integration.

About EU PVSEC

For more than forty years, EU PVSEC has served as the reference event for photovoltaic research. It is the largest and longest-established conference in the field. Each edition brings together over 1,500 participants from more than 60 countries and features around 1,200 scientific contributions, from oral sessions and posters to expert workshops and dedicated industry forums. Alongside PV research, technologies and applications, the programme addresses the economic, political, social and educational questions that shape how solar is actually deployed, making it a key meeting point between the research community and industry.
