Accelerating Climate Adaptation through Local Media Ecosystems

15 October 2026 Brussels, Belgium

Climate adaptation isn’t just about flood barriers, reservoirs, or nature-based defenses. It also depends on something less visible but equally critical: strong local information ecosystems. In Europe’s most climate-vulnerable regions, communities need timely, credible, and locally relevant information to understand risks, make informed decisions, and turn climate challenges into collective action. Without trusted channels connecting local actors, even the most ambitious adaptation strategies fail to reach the people they’re meant to protect.

Join us for RESIST Media Briefing VI at Brussels Press Club, where journalists, civil society, public authorities and businesses come together to explore how stronger local information ecosystems can power climate resilience. The briefing puts a spotlight on two frontline regions of RESIST (Normandy (France) and Blekinge (Sweden)) where local authorities, journalists, and community partners are turning flood risk into coordinated action. The session also brings a complementary perspective from Regions4Climate’s work in Tuscany (Italy), widening the lens on how regions across Europe are building the information networks that adaptation depends on.

You’ll also get a first look at the Climate Frontline Toolkit, a practical new resource offering frameworks, tools and case studies to help journalists and local actors sharpen their climate reporting and strengthen the information networks that underpin resilience.

Designed for journalists and media professionals, this briefing offers more than insight. It’s a chance to build the contacts and resources for better climate coverage, and to see why investing in local information is a real accelerator of adaptation and resilience.

REVOLVE is co-organising this event as a partner with RESIST, Regions4Climate, and Climate Frontline. This briefing is a partner event of Brussels Climate Week, of which REVOLVE is a media partner.
