Max Åhman
Professor and Head of Division, Environmental and Energy Systems Studies, Lund University
Max Åhman completed his PhD in 2003 with a thesis focused on zero-emissions vehicles. Following this, his work expanded to include the development of biofuels, as well as the complex interactions between industry, climate policy, and innovation policy.
After leaving Lund University in 2006, he continued his career as an international consultant in Nairobi and Tunis, and later as a civil servant at the Climate Policy Unit at the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
In 2013, he returned to Lund University, where he has since worked on green industrial policy, deep decarbonisation of heavy industry, global climate and trade policy, and the implications of renewable electrification for power system management.
