Kyle Ritchie
Founder of the Circular Economy Studio and Sustainability Strategist at SmithGroup
Kyle Ritchie is currently authoring the Circular Economy for Dummies book, which is due to be published on April 27th, 2021. As Cannon Design’s Education Sustainable Design Lead, Kyle is responsible for managing the sustainable design efforts of the firm’s education projects and driving the documentation for LEED, WELL, CHPS, and other rating systems and standards. In addition, he contributes to the sustainable design process through workshops, design charrettes, stakeholder engagement, and more. On top of project support, he assists business development with project proposals and researches a range of materials, systems, and approaches to reduce the energy, carbon, and toxins in his client’s projects. He also performs and analyzes energy models, energy audits, feasibility studies and recommends ways to improve process, quality and coordination efforts. Aside from his work at Cannon Design, Kyle is an Adjunct Professor at the Boston Architectural College and teaches Energy in the Built Environment II (EBE 2) and Resilient Design for the College’s Master of Sustainable Design Program. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Natural Resources and Environmental Management from Ball State University and a Master’s Degree in Sustainable Design from the Boston Architectural College (BAC) and is a LEED BD+C, ID+C, WELL and EcoDistricts Accredited Professional.
